Chapter One

WHAT IS IPTV?

The technology changing how Canada watches TV

The Simple Explanation

IPTV stands for Internet Protocol Television—and if that sounds technical, don't worry. Here's the easiest way to understand it: think of IPTV as "Netflix but for live television, movies, AND sports combined, plus thousands more channels than any traditional cable package could ever offer."

Instead of receiving TV signals through a coaxial cable running into your home (old-school cable) or a satellite dish bolted to your roof (satellite TV), IPTV delivers every channel, movie, show, and sporting event directly over your existing internet connection. That means no technician appointments, no ugly dishes, no equipment rental fees, and no waiting around for installation windows.

The journey of a single frame—from PureCast servers to your screen—instantly.

The Brief History of IPTV

IPTV technology has been evolving since the early 2000s, when telecom companies first experimented with delivering television signals over broadband internet. By 2010, services like Netflix proved that internet-based video delivery was not just viable—it was the future. Around 2015-2017, independent IPTV providers began offering live TV packages that rivaled traditional cable at a fraction of the cost. Today, in 4, millions of households worldwide—including rapidly growing numbers across Canada—are cutting the cord and switching to IPTV as their primary (and often only) television source. The technology is mature, reliable, and only getting better.

🍁 Canada-Specific Context: Canadians were among the early adopters of cord-cutting due to consistently high cable prices and excellent nationwide internet infrastructure. Major cities like Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, and Ottawa now see IPTV adoption rates above 15% of households—a number that doubles every two years.

IPTV vs Cable vs Satellite vs Streaming Apps

How PureCast stacks up against every viewing option available today

💡 KEY INSIGHT: Notice how the PureCast column is highlighted? That's because we believe transparency matters. When you look at the facts—channel count, cost, flexibility, and device compatibility—IPTV isn't just an alternative to cable. For most Canadian households, it's simply the better choice.

Why Canadians Are Cutting the Cable in 2024

The numbers tell a story that cable companies don't want you to hear. According to recent data from the CRTC and industry analysts, the average Canadian household pays between $150 and $230 per month for a "premium" cable package—and that's before taxes, equipment rentals, hidden HD fees, Sportsnet surcharges, and the infamous "network access fees" that seem to materialize out of thin air on every bill.

Beyond raw cost, Canadians have grown tired of being forced into bloated channel bundles. Want TSN for hockey? That requires a base package plus the sports tier, plus HD fees, plus PVR rental—that's three additional charges just to watch one hockey game. And good luck trying to cancel without spending 45 minutes on hold and enduring a retention script designed to guilt-trip you into staying.

In contrast, IPTV subscribers enjoy complete freedom: choose what to watch, when to watch it, on whatever device they own—all for one flat monthly fee with zero contracts and the ability to cancel in literally three clicks. No phone calls required.

🍁 Did You Know? Canada has some of the highest cable TV bills in the developed world—higher than the United States, Australia, Japan, and most European nations. The average Canadian household spends approximately $2,160 per year on cable. With PureCast starting at just $19.99/month ($240/year), the savings potential is enormous. Even our Family plan at $39.99/month comes to under $480/year—still less than half the cost of basic cable.

Is IPTV Right for You? Take This Quick Check:

You want to save money on television
You want MORE channels than cable offers
You want live sports (NHL, NFL, NBA, UFC)
You want CBC, TSN, Sportsnet, RDS included
You want to watch on phone, tablet, AND TV
You hate long-term contracts and cancellation fees

If you checked ANY of these — IPTV is absolutely for you.

Key IPTV Terminology — Your Quick Glossary

Master these terms and you'll speak IPTV like a pro from Day 1

M3U URL A playlist file link containing all your channel data. Think of it as the master key that unlocks your entire channel lineup. PureCast provides yours via email.
EPG Electronic Program Guide—the digital TV schedule showing what's playing now and coming up next on every channel. Like the old printed TV guides, but interactive and always current.
VOD Video On Demand. A library of movies and TV series you can watch anytime you want—no schedules, no waiting. PureCast includes 40,000+ VOD titles.
Buffering When playback pauses briefly to load more data. Usually caused by slow internet or network congestion. Our troubleshooting chapter covers every fix.
4K / UHD Ultra High Definition resolution (3840×2160 pixels). Four times sharper than standard HD (1080p). Requires minimum 25 Mbps internet speed.
H.265 / HEVC Advanced video compression codec that delivers incredible picture quality at lower bandwidth requirements. PureCast uses H.265 for optimal performance.
Xtream Codes API A login system using username, password, and server URL instead of an M3U link. The preferred method for modern players like IBOPlayer Pro.
Catch-Up TV Rewind feature allowing you to watch programs that aired in the past 7 days—even if you missed them live. Perfect for catching last night's game.
PPV Pay-Per-View events like UFC fight nights and championship boxing. These are typically extra-fee events—with PureCast, many are included at no extra charge.
MAG Device A dedicated set-top box designed specifically for IPTV (Infomir MAG series). Not required for PureCast—we work on devices you already own.
💡 PRO TIP: Don't worry about memorizing all these terms right now. As you follow the setup guides, they'll become second nature. Bookmark this page for quick reference later.

Chapter Two

DEVICES & COMPATIBILITY

Works on every screen you already own

Works On Every Device You Own

One of the biggest advantages of IPTV over traditional cable is universal device support. Unlike cable that ties you to a company-provided set-top box (with monthly rental fees), PureCast works on virtually every device you already have in your home. Your Smart TV. Your tablet. Your laptop. Your phone. Whatever screen you prefer to watch on—it works.

Internet Speed Requirements

Not sure if your connection is fast enough? Here's exactly what you need.

Quality Minimum Speed Recommended Simultaneous Devices Suitable For
SD (480p) 5 Mbps 8 Mbps 1-2 devices Basic viewing, mobile
HD (720p) 10 Mbps 15 Mbps 2-3 devices Tablets, small TVs
Full HD (1080p) 15 Mbps 25 Mbps 3-4 devices Main TV, laptops
4K Ultra HD 25 Mbps 40 Mbps 1-2 devices (4K) Premium experience
Multiple 4K 50 Mbps 100 Mbps Whole family Power users

Visual Speed Guide

SD Streaming (5 Mbps needed) Easy ✓
HD Streaming (15 Mbps needed) Moderate
Full HD (25 Mbps needed) Good Connection
4K Ultra HD (40 Mbps needed) High Speed Plan
💡 PRO TIP: Test your current internet speed RIGHT NOW at fast.com (Netflix's free speed test) or speedtest.net. Your actual speed determines your maximum streaming quality—know before you stream!

WiFi vs Ethernet for IPTV

Factor WiFi (Wireless) Ethernet (Wired) Winner
Speed Consistency Varies wildly Rock steady Ethernet ✅
Bufering Risk Moderate-High Near Zero Ethernet ✅
Latency Higher (5-30ms) Lower (<2ms) Ethernet ✅
Convenience No cables! Requires cable WiFi

Bottom line: If possible, connect your primary streaming device (Fire Stick, Apple TV, Smart TV) using an ethernet cable. If WiFi is your only option, try to keep your router within 15 feet of your TV and use the 5GHz WiFi band. Both methods will deliver a great experience—but ethernet is always superior for live-stream buffering prevention.

Do You Need a VPN for IPTV?

This is one of the most common questions we receive at PureCast. The short answer: No, PureCast works perfectly without a VPN. However, there are situations where a VPN may be beneficial depending on your personal preferences and network conditions. Let's break down exactly when VPN helps—and when it doesn't.

✅ WHEN VPN HELPS

  • • Extra privacy layer (encrypts all traffic)
  • • Bypassing ISP-level traffic shaping/throttling
  • • Accessing region-restricted content (when traveling)
  • • Public WiFi security (hotels, airports, coffee shops)
  • • Preventing bandwidth caps from triggering

⚡ WHEN VPN ISN'T NEEDED

  • • PureCast streams flawlessly without VPN
  • • Most Canadian ISPs do NOT throttle IPTV
  • • VPN adds slight latency (~10-30ms)
  • • VPN costs extra money ($5-15/month)
  • • Some VPNs actually CAUSE buffering

Recommended VPNs for IPTV (If Needed)

VPN Provider Price Speed Score IPTV Compatibility Best Feature
ExpressVPN $12.99/mo ★★★★★ Excellent Fastest speeds
NordVPN $11.99/mo ★★★★☆ Great Best value
Surfshark $9.99/mo ★★★★☆ Good Unlimited devices
💡 QUICK VPN SETUP WITH IPTV: If you decide to use a VPN, download your chosen VPN app → Connect to a server in Canada (or USA) → Open your IPTV player app → Stream normally. For Fire TV Stick: install VPN APK then enable "Split Tunneling" to route ONLY certain apps through VPN, keeping IPTV direct for better speed.
🍁 Final Word on VPNs & Canadian Law: Using a VPN for privacy reasons is perfectly legal in Canada. Hundreds of thousands of Canadians use VPNs daily. However, PureCast customers report that the vast majority stream happily without any VPN whatsoever. Try without VPN first—you can always add one later if you feel it would enhance your setup.

Chapter Three

STEP-BY-STEP
INSTALLATION

Follow your device below — setup takes under 2 minutes

🔥

Amazon Fire TV Stick Setup

BEGINNER FRIENDLY • MOST POPULAR DEVICE

The Amazon Fire TV Stick is the #1 most popular device among PureCast subscribers. It's affordable (around $49 CAD for the 4K version), incredibly easy to use, and pairs perfectly with our recommended IBOPlayer Pro app. Follow these steps exactly, and you'll be watching within minutes.

1

Plug In Your Fire TV Stick

Insert the Fire TV Stick directly into any available HDMI port on your television (most modern TVs have 3-4 HDMI ports labeled "HDMI 1", "HDMI 2", etc.). Plug the USB power cable into either a wall outlet power adapter (recommended for consistent power) or a USB port on your TV itself. Turn on your TV and switch to the correct HDMI input using your TV remote or the "Input" or "Source" button.

2

Complete Initial Fire TV Setup

If this is your first time using the Fire TV Stick, you'll see a welcome screen. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language, connect to your home WiFi network (make sure you enter the correct password), and sign in with your existing Amazon account (or create a free account if you don't have one). This usually takes 3-5 minutes.

3

Enable Unknown Sources (Critical Step!)

This step allows you to install apps that aren't in Amazon's App Store. Go to: Settings (gear icon top-right) → My Fire TV → Developer Options. Toggle ON both "Apps from Unknown Sources" and "ADB Debugging". A warning popup may appear—click OK/Allow. This is completely safe and necessary for installing IPTV players.

4

Download the Downloader App

Press the Home button (house icon) on your Fire TV remote. Navigate to the Search icon (magnifying glass at the very top of the screen). Type: "Downloader" (without quotes) using the on-screen keyboard. Select the orange "Downloader" app by AFTVnews.com from the search results. Click the "Download" or "Get" button and wait for installation to complete (about 15-30 seconds).

Amazon Fire TV Stick — Completing Your Setup

5

Open Downloader & Enter Your App Download URL

Open the Downloader app you just installed. When prompted for permissions, click "Allow" (this lets the app download files). You should now see a URL/address bar near the top of the screen. Enter the download URL for your IPTV player app. If you're using IBOPlayer Pro (our recommendation), paste the link provided in your PureCast welcome email. Alternative: type the IPTV Smarters Pro download URL if using that player instead.

6

Install Your IPTV Player App

After entering the URL and pressing Go, the APK (installer) file will download automatically. Once downloaded, a prompt will appear asking if you want to install the application. Click "Install" and wait for the installation process to finish (typically 20-40 seconds). IMPORTANT: When the installation completes, you will see two options—"Open" and "Done". Click "DONE", not "Open" (we'll open it fresh in the next step after it fully registers).

7

Enter Your PureCast Credentials

Now open your newly installed IPTV player app (find it in Your Apps & Channels or Apps section). Look for an option labeled "Add New User", "Login", or "Xtream Codes API". Enter the three pieces of information found in your PureCast welcome email:

Server URL: (looks like http://xxx.purecast.ca:port)
Username: (your unique PureCast username)
Password: (your unique PureCast password)

Double-check for typos—these are case-sensitive!

8

Load Channels & Start Watching!

After submitting your credentials, allow 30-90 seconds for all 25,000+ channels to load and populate. You may see a loading spinner or progress bar—this is normal. Once loaded, browse the categories (Sports, News, Movies, Entertainment, Kids, Canadian, International, etc.). Tap any channel to start watching instantly. That's it—you're done! Enjoy your new IPTV setup.

iPhone & iPad Setup

iOS 14+ supported • App Store Installation

Setting up PureCast on your iPhone or iPad takes less than 3 minutes. iOS devices work exceptionally well with IPTV thanks to powerful hardware decoding and Apple's optimized networking stack. Whether you're watching on the go, in bed, or casting to your living room TV—here's exactly how to do it.

1

Open the Apple App Store

Tap the blue App Store icon on your iPhone or iPad home screen (it looks like a stylized letter "A" made of popsicle sticks). Make sure you're signed in with your Apple ID—if prompted, sign in or create one (free to create).

2

Search for Your IPTV Player App

Tap the magnifying glass search icon at the bottom of the App Store. In the search bar at the top, type: "IPTV Smarters Pro" (the most popular option) or "GSE Smart IPTV" (excellent alternative). Make sure to select the correct developer: "IPTV Smarters" by Muhammad Imran or "GSE-TV by Davy Keppens."

3

Download and Install the App

Tap the GET button (or the cloud/download icon if previously downloaded). If asked, authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password. The app downloads and installs automatically—usually within 10-30 seconds depending on your internet speed. Some IPTV apps are free; others may have a small one-time fee (under $10)—this goes to the app developer, not PureCast.

4

Add Your Playlist / Login

Open the app you just installed. Look for the "Add Playlist" or "+" button on the main screen. Select "Xtream Codes API" as the playlist type (this is the login method that gives you full features including VOD, EPG, and series). You will see fields requesting your server details.

5

Enter Your PureCast Credentials

In the form presented, carefully enter:
Server URL: Copy-paste from your PureCast welcome email
Username: Your assigned PureCast username (case-sensitive)
Password: Your assigned PureCast password (case-sensitive)

Triple-check spelling before proceeding. iOS keyboard auto-correct can sometimes change characters—watch out for this!

6

Start Streaming!

Tap "Add User" or "Login" to save your credentials. Allow 20-60 seconds for the initial channel load (first-time sync pulls the full database). Once complete, tap any category, select any channel, and enjoy crisp live television on your iOS device anywhere you have internet.

💡 AIRPLAY MAGIC: Want to watch on your big-screen TV? While playing any channel on your iPhone, open Control Center (swipe down from top-right corner on newer iPhones, swipe up from bottom on older models). Tap Screen Mirroring → Select your Apple TV or compatible Smart TV. Boom—full IPTV experience on your 65-inch TV, controlled from your phone.

Two Methods Available • Works on ALL Android versions

METHOD A: Google Play Store

RECOMMENDED — Easy, safe, official. Takes 2 minutes.

  • No unknown sources setting needed
  • Automatic updates handled by Play Store
  • Verified developer and safety-checked app

METHOD B: Direct APK Install

ADVANCED OPTION — For beta/latest versions.

  • Get latest build before Play Store update
  • Enables sideloading capability knowledge
  • Works even if Play Store blocked in some regions

✅ METHOD A — Google Play Store (Easiest)

1

Open Google Play Store

Find the colorful triangle Play Store icon on your Android phone or tablet home screen (inside your App Drawer if not visible). Tap to open.

2

Search for IPTV Player

Tap the search bar (magnifying glass) at the top. Type: "IBOPlayer Pro" (if available in your region) or "IPTV Smarters Pro". Select the correct result with the green "Install" button next to it. Verify the developer name matches expectations.

3

Install & Grant Permissions

Tap "Install" and wait for download/installation (about 15-45 seconds). When the app opens for the first time, grant requested permissions (storage access for caching, network access for streaming). These are standard and required for proper functionality.

4

Login with PureCast Details

Select "Add New Account" → Choose "Xtream Codes API" → Enter your Server URL, Username, and Password from your PureCast welcome email. Tap Save/Add and let the app synchronize.

⚙️ METHOD B — Direct APK Download

1

Enable Unknown Sources First

Go to: Settings → Security (or Privacy) → Enable "Install Unknown Apps" or "Unknown Sources". Select whichever browser app you'll use to download the APK file (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) and toggle permission ON. Without this step, APK files won't install.

2

Download the APK File

Open Chrome/Firefox browser → Navigate to the download link provided in your PureCast email (or the official IBOPlayer Pro / IPTV Smarters website). The APK file (.apk extension) will download to your Downloads folder. Watch for the download completion notification.

3

Install from Downloads

Swipe down your notification shade and tap the download notification for the APK file. Or open Files/Files by Google app → Downloads folder → tap the APK file. Confirm "Install" when prompted. A warning may appear about unknown apps—tap "Install Anyway" (safe since you downloaded from a trusted source).

4

Open App & Enter Credentials

Launch the freshly-installed app → Login/Add User → Select Xtream Codes → Enter PureCast credentials → Start watching!

💻

PC / Windows Laptop Setup

Windows 10 & Windows 11 Supported • Two Methods

Method 1: IPTV Smarters for Windows (Dedicated App)

1

Visit the IPTV Smarters Website

Open Microsoft Edge, Chrome, or Firefox on your Windows PC. Navigate to the official IPTV Smarters website. Look for the "Windows" or "Desktop" download option in the navigation menu or download section. The installer file (usually .exe format) will download to your computer.

2

Run the Installer

Double-click the downloaded .exe file to launch the installer. If Windows SmartScreen displays a warning ("Windows protected your PC"), click "More info" then "Run anyway" (this is normal for independent software developers who aren't registered with Microsoft's expensive signing program). Follow the on-screen prompts clicking Next/Install throughout.

3

Open IPTV Smarters & Configure

Launch the app from your Desktop or Start Menu. You'll see a clean interface with options to add a user/account. Click the "+" button or select "Add User" → Choose "Xtream Codes API" as the input method. In the pop-up form, carefully enter your Server URL, Username, and Password from PureCast's welcome email.

4

Optimize Display Settings (Optional but Recommended)

Go to Settings (gear icon) → Set video output resolution to match your monitor's native resolution. Enable "Hardware Acceleration" for smoother playback. If you have multiple monitors, drag the window to your desired screen. Enable fullscreen mode using F11 or the fullscreen button for immersive viewing.

Method 2: VLC Media Player (Free, Universal Backup Method)

VLC is the Swiss Army knife of media players. If you encounter issues with any dedicated IPTV app, VLC will almost always work as a reliable fallback. It's 100% free and installed on billions of computers worldwide.

1

Download & Install VLC

Visit videolan.org/vlc/ → Click the orange "Download VLC" button → Run the installer accepting default settings. Total install time: under 2 minutes.

2

Open Network Stream Option

Launch VLC Media Player. In the menu bar, click Media → Open Network Stream (or press Ctrl+N shortcut). A dialog box will appear with an empty URL field.

3

Enter Your M3U Playlist URL

In the "Please enter a network URL:" field, paste your M3U playlist URL from your PureCast welcome email (starts with http://... and ends with .m3u or similar). Make sure there are no spaces before or after the URL. Click "Play" button at the bottom.

4

Your Channel List Loads & Plays

VLC will fetch the playlist and begin loading the channel index (may take 30 seconds initially). A playlist sidebar typically appears on the left showing channel groups/categories. Double-click any channel name to start watching. Use View → Playlist (Ctrl+L) to toggle visibility of the channel list sidebar.

📸

💡 WINDOWS PRO TIP: For the best desktop IPTV experience, use Method 1 (dedicated IPTV app) as your primary viewer and keep VLC installed as your emergency backup. Also consider connecting your PC via HDMI to your TV for big-screen viewing, or use keyboard shortcuts: Spacebar = pause/play, F = fullscreen, Ctrl++ = volume up.

Mac users rejoice—setting up PureCast on macOS is just as straightforward as on any other platform. Apple's Silicon chips (M1, M2, M3) provide exceptional hardware decoding for smooth 4K streaming. Below are the two proven methods that work flawlessly on modern Macs.

Method 1: IPTV Smarters for macOS (Native App)

1

Get the Mac Version of IPTV Smarters

Open Safari web browser on your Mac. Visit the official IPTV Smarters website or the Mac App Store. If available as a native Mac app, download directly from the App Store (recommended for automatic updates and security). If downloading from website, obtain the .dmg disk image file.

2

Install the Application

If from App Store: Click "Get"/Buy → Authenticate with Touch ID or Apple ID password → App installs to Applications folder automatically.

If .dmg file: Double-click the .dmg file → Drag the app icon into your Applications folder → Eject the disk image from Finder sidebar (trash can icon or Cmd+E). Then open the app from your Applications folder or Launchpad.

3

First Launch & Login Setup

Open IPTV Smarters from your Applications folder or Launchpad (Cmd+Space then type "IPTV"). On first run, Gatekeeper may ask "Are you sure you want to open this?" — click "Open". Once launched, click the large "+" or "Add User" button on the main dashboard. Select "Xtream Codes API" from the dropdown.

4

Enter PureCast Credentials

Fill in the three credential fields precisely:
Server URL: Paste from PureCast welcome email
Username: Your assigned username
Password: Your assigned password

Click "Save" or "Login". The app validates your credentials against PureCast servers and begins fetching your channel lineup.

Method 2: VLC for Mac (Free Universal Method)

1

Install VLC (if not already present)

Open Mac App Store → Search "VLC" → Get/Install (it's free). Alternatively, download from videolan.org/vlc/ and drag to Applications. VLC is preinstalled on many Macs already—check your Applications folder first.

2

Open Network Stream

Launch VLC → Menu bar: File → Open Network… (or press Cmd+N). A floating dialog appears. In the "Network URL" field, paste your M3U URL from the PureCast welcome email.

3

Play Your Channels

Click "Open" (not "Stream"). Your playlist loads within 15-45 seconds. Access the channel list via Window → Playlist (Cmd+L) or the left sidebar. Double-click any channel to play. Use Cmd+F for fullscreen, Space for pause/play. To maximize quality: Preferences → Input/Codecs → Hardware-accelerated decoding = Automatic.

🍎 Mac-Specific Tips for Canadian Users:
  1. Connect MacBook to external monitor/TV via HDMI or AirPlay for larger viewing area
  2. iMac users can run Picture-in-Picture: Hold green maximize button → select "Tile Window" then drag VLC to a corner
  3. Use Mission Control (Ctrl+Up or three-finger swipe) to quickly switch between IPTV and other windows
  4. Mac Mini connected to your TV = excellent dedicated IPTV hub for living room setup

Apple TV Setup

Apple TV 4K (2nd gen+) • tvOS 15+ • Two Methods

Apple TV (especially the Apple TV 4K models) is one of the most powerful streaming devices in existence—featuring Apple's A-series/A-series equivalent silicon chips that handle 4K HDR content effortlessly. PureCast runs beautifully on Apple TV through native apps or via AirPlay mirroring from your other Apple devices.

Method 1: Native App Installation via App Store

1

Access the App Store on Apple TV

Turn on your Apple TV and wake it with the Siri Remote. Navigate to the App Store icon (blue circle with white "A") from your Home Screen (pressing the TV button to return home). Open the App Store application.

2

Search for Compatible IPTV App

Select Search (top menu) or press the microphone/siri button on your remote and say "Search for GSE Smart IPTV" (works reliably on Apple TV). Alternatively, type using the on-screen keyboard: "GSE IPTV", "IPTV Smarters", or "IBOPlayer" if available. Scroll through results and verify the correct app.

3

Download & Open the Application

Click "GET" or the price button (some IPTV apps have small one-time fees on tvOS—check pricing before confirming). Authenticate with your Apple ID if prompted (use the built-in App Store authentication, not typing a password manually on remote). Once installed, select "OPEN" or find the app icon on your Home Screen and click to launch.

4

Configure with PureCast Credentials

Within the app, locate the settings/add account/login area. Choose Xtream Codes API as your login mode. Using the on-screen keyboard on your Siri Remote (swipe to move cursor, tap touch surface to click), enter your Server URL, Username, and Password from PureCast's email. Navigate carefully—remote text entry takes slightly longer than a physical keyboard. Click "Done" or "Save" when finished.

Method 2: AirPlay Mirroring from iPhone/iPad

1

Set Up IPTV on Your iOS Device First

Follow the iPhone/iPad setup instructions from Page 16 of this guide. Ensure your IPTV player app is installed, configured with PureCast credentials, and working correctly on your iPhone or iPad before proceeding with AirPlay.

2

Connect to Same WiFi Network

Verify that BOTH your iOS device and Apple TV are connected to the same WiFi network. They must share the same local network for AirPlay discovery to function. Check Settings → WiFi on both devices to confirm identical network names.

3

Activate AirPlay / Screen Mirroring

On your iPhone: Swipe down from top-right corner to open Control Center → Tap the Screen Mirroring icon (two overlapping rectangles) → Select your Apple TV from the list of discovered devices. Within seconds, your iPhone screen mirrors onto your TV. Now open your IPTV app and play any channel—it appears full-screen on the TV.

💡 APPLE TV PERFORMANCE NOTE: AirPlay-mirrored IPTV from iPhone to Apple TV achieves surprisingly low latency (<200ms delay)—virtually imperceptible for TV watching. For the absolute best Apple TV experience though, Method 1 (native app) provides dedicated UI, remote control integration, and slightly better performance. Reserve AirPlay for scenarios where your preferred IPTV app lacks a native tvOS version.
🍁 Apple TV & Canadian Content Reminder: With native app mode on Apple TV 4K, you can easily add CBC, TSN, Sportsnet, and RDS to your Favorites row for instant one-click access every game day. No more fumbling through channel lists—your Canadiens/Leafs/Jets/Canucks games are always one press away.
